Not for use on aluminum, chrome, stainless steel, cement, fiberglass, marble, plastics or painted surfaces.
Besides guns, it can be used on items such as iron railings, barbeque grills, automobiles, patio furniture, tools, antiques, mailboxes, lawn mowers, bicycles and lamp posts.
HOW TO USE:
-
Prepare the metal surface removing loose rust & dirt and cleaning off any grease or oil.
-
Apply in temperatures between 50 to 90 degrees F (10 to 32 degrees C).
-
In a well-ventilated area wearing rubber/plastic gloves and safety glasses, brush Loctite Naval Jelly on liberally.
-
Work the rust treatment into pitted areas. Leave on 5 to 10 minutes.
-
The Loctite should NOT remain on a surface for more than 15 minutes. If product is left on too long and hardens, apply more Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver to remove.
-
Rinse off with fresh water. Repeat if any rust remains.
-
Protect the metal surface from further rusting. Loctite does NOT provide long term protection of surfaces to prevent the recurrence of rust. Unless re-bluing a firearm right away, apply a rust preventive oil like Clenzoil to prevent oxidation. For other items, protect with a clear coating or prime & paint within 24 hours.

CAUTION:
If it comes in contact with painted surfaces, wipe it off IMMEDIATELY as Loctite will remove paint. Loctite is NOT compatible with latex topcoats.
HOW TO STORE & DISPOSE:
Store Loctite in a cool dry place and avoid freezing. Use an approved hazardous waste facility for disposal.
